This was our last shoot for the pilot- so now it's time to edit and hopefully sell the show!!! I've had such a great time making it- and hope it gets picked up so I can keep travelling, learning, and meeting amazing people.

Cowboys
I've done some amazing things this month- and have been really busy- so forgive me for not updating you sooner. About three weeks ago I went to Salt Lick BBQ, here in Austin, TX, and Scott Roberts, the owner, gave me some lessons in Texan BBQ. It is such a great restaurant with a real American history. Scott's parents started the restaurant forty years ago, with no electricity, no building, and just a smoker on the side of the road. Today Salt Lick serves about half a million people every year.
I learned to cook ribs, brisket, sausage, potato salad, coleslaw...I'm no expert, but I learned a lot. Right after finishing with Scott we headed to West Texas where I met a couple of cowboys and went on a round up. What an experience. Here are some photos from the week, I think they capture my time better than words can:

Blackpool FC
For me football, or soccer to you Americans, is like a religion. Growing up my family worshiped at Bloomfield Road- the home of the mighty Seasiders. On May 22, 2010 my wildest dreams came true and Blackpool FC got promoted to the top league in the UK- the Premier league. You have to understand the odds were something along the lines of one in a thousand. Like the Raiders going to the Super Bowl. The point being- I had to return to England and be there for this ushering in of a new era. Back to Wembley I went- to witness the glory- be a part of the mayhem- to celebrate my team's victory. Check out some photos of the beauty:

'Coming To America'
You might be wondering what would motivate me to stop my travels and to forever leave the motherland, move across the pond, and set up a new life in the land of the free. I’ll give you one guess: a women.
So here I am, swapping my footie boots for cowboy boots, a soccer ball for a baseball, pie and chips for burgers and fries. But, as my mother always said: if you’re going to do something, do it right.
I have three years before my citizenship exam. During those three years I aim to explore the people, landscape, culture, and food of every state in this massive country. Travel along the road to nowhere and see where it takes me. Along the way I intend to learn as much as I can about the history, politics, and most importantly, the people.

Make Me an American.
You can follow me on my journey here at my blog. We will post video weekly- as I travel around the country.
